The author John Eldredge talks about a mans heart in his book called Wild at Heart. One of the key factors is every man needs an adventure to live. In recovery we first think that life is going to be boring and we must give into having a dull life. This is false in our sobriety it's like we are reborn and things seem new and exciting.

As a house we go on fishing trips along with hunting trips. These activities in themselves may seem dull from the outside looking in but its the adventure before the event. We go out sometimes and the seas are not calm they are rough and scary at times and we weather through the rough seas together. Or we stay up late the night before the hunt gathered around the fire pit exchanging life stories that help others see where we come from or why we think a certain way.

Scuba certification class is another way that we engage in an adventure with each other. Many have never experienced the ocean let alone going down one hundred feet under the water.

Most find themselves in the adventure and they explore this new and exciting world in sobriety.
